I plan to share more in-depth about my personal journey with this sacred practice, but to give a quick high-level reference guide, this list below outlines the format I’ve adopted.
- Craft your intentions. Be specific. Consider trying gratitude-based intentions (e.g. I’m grateful my bills are always paid and I have all I need. I am immersed in abundance and overflow with favor.)
- Consider what actions you can realistically set to move towards meeting your intentions. (e.g. Be intentional to pay off or pay down bills and to tuck money into savings – even if it’s just a dollar, get the energy moving)
- Select appropriate stones/crystals for each one (consider the properties for the stones you have and choose accordingly. For example Citrine or Pyrite for finances, Rose Quartz or Rhodonite to shift into a stronger place of self-love)
- Consider having a primary piece – perhaps a Quartz tower as a focal point (this piece can hold and amplify your intentions, like having a center piece in a crystal grid)
- Find a place for you to set up your sacred space/altar space. Think high visibility (for you, not necessarily for others), but somewhere you won’t need to be moving things once they’re set.
- Energetically cleanse the stones/crystals you plan to use (I prefer some time in the sun – be intuitively led)
- Set aside time near the New Moon (if the peak occurs at 2am, I may do it the evening before since it’s closest to the peak. Some people think it should only be done after the peak, but personally I just aim for the best that works for me to give it the time and attention it deserves.)
- Begin the ritual by clearing/cleansing the energy space. Burning Palo Santo or Sage are effective methods, but intuitively be led what works best for you.
- Set your intentions. I like to read each one while holding the associated stone (kind of like a Crystal Grid), and then arrange them as I feel led – placing each piece as I go.
- Do a New Moon Card Pull (For more general information about using decks start with Decks / Oracle Cards Basics)
- And finally to close after my intentions have been set and the card pull has been done, I typically pause for gratitude (and to document)
